- Upon inspection found: P06DD Dual Stage Oil Pressure Stuck Low. code found with scan tool. Found shaking on freeway around 60mph. Upon inspection of suspension found loose struts and worn drag link. Recommend replacing, aligning and retesting. Upon diagnostic of code p06DD found vehicle 3 quarts low on oil, Oil is leaking from the oil filter housing. Recommend to replace and retest, as if oil leak is not fixed, oil pressure testing cannot continue. After replacing Oil filter housing and driving vehicle, found that Check engine light returns with same code. Upon further diagnostic found that oil pressure goes up to 50-56psi at 3000-4000rpm. Manufacturer spec is ~65psi and no more than 125psi. According to these tests, it seems the low oil level may have damaged the dual stage oil pump. Causing oil pump to fail and not provide adequate oil pressure… Also very small possibility that internal components of engine are damaged and could be the reason why oil pressure is not building high enough as well. Recommend replacing Dual stage oil pump and retesting vehicle.
- Installed new drag link and tie rod end. Rotated and balanced tire. Vehicle drives much better without shimmy
- Removed intake replaced oil filter housing. Also replaced spark plugs. Test drove vehicle no leaks at this time
- Performed LOF service as requested. Checked belts, hoses, brakes and fluids, checked air filter and cabin air filter. Topped off fluids as needed. Set tire air pressure.
